Diagonal is read in inches for a 16∶9 rectangle. Picture height h is derived from the diagonal, then a simple rule shows a recommended range about 1.5×h to 2.5×h expressed in feet (with h÷12 as picture height in feet on the second line). Room layout and resolution preferences are not modeled.
This calculator uses plain decimal numbers. If a result looks wrong, check whether you used a comma instead of a dot (or vice versa) where the field expects one.
