How is the equivalent resistance computed?

For two positives in parallel, 1/Req = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂, i.e. Req = (R₁R₂) ÷ (R₁ + R₂) as implemented. More than two branches are not handled on this page.

Does the decimal separator matter?

This calculator uses plain decimal numbers. If a result looks wrong, check whether you used a comma instead of a dot (or vice versa) where the field expects one.
